Certified Grief Life Coaching covers a broad spectrum of approaches to include loss of health, career, and yes, even grief due to death most especially. Mourning Joy provides a forward moving approach to grief with use of the International Coach Federation core principles.
The question is: what makes Mourning Joy Certified Grief Life Coaching different from other coaches, therapists, counselors, etc.? Note the following:
Certified Grief Life Coaching with Mourning Joy addresses the pain of inward grief and points a client towards outward MOURNING IN ACTION. Many would ask what the difference is between the two as the words and phrases are often used interchangeably. Mourning Joy has developed a model that provides a clear and concise way to differentiate between the two, thus, laying out a road map where one can know as to whether they are paralyzed with grief, or actively moving forward with mourning in action that ultimately, regardless of how long it might take, achieves restored hope. Grief is now included in the DSM-5 Psychiatric Diagnostic Manual and includes diagnoses such as 'Prolonged Grief Disorder' and 'Complicated Grief.' Once a client receives intervention from a therapist with the license to diagnose what is a natural human emotion to loss, then the diagnosis code remains on a client's mental health record without recourse.
THE ANSWER FOR MOURNING in ACTION is the 'MOURNING JOY 3-LEGGED GRIEF MODEL':
(1) Pillars of Hope
(2) Companion C's
(3) ICE - Individual Coaching Experience.
With this approach, which admittedly can be hard work, one will move forward from grief to healing to hope, all the while mourning-in-action their loss and transforming their hearts from inward pain to restored hope.
In terms of grief, the ICF core principles provide a rich confident pathway towards healing and hope, with a certified Mourning Joy Grief Life Coach fully realizing that life for their clients will be different and perhaps never the same as a person mourns the loss of a loved one.
A 'Certified Grief Life Coach' session is client driven, based on needs, and may include the following:
