PRIVACY CLIENT-COACH POLICIES & rights

Mourning Joy, Board of Directors, and staff adhere to professional standards to include best practice(s) that secure all client information in accordance with the federal United States HIPAA laws. 

Client information and documentation is secured using the following methods:

• Client release forms disclosing a Confidentiality Agreement statement must be signed
• Clients are assigned a personal code to be used in electronic communications to include all emails
• Client files are marked 'Confidential'
• Client files are placed in locked fire-safe file cabinets
• Client(s) must sign a release form to participate in an online Grief Life Coaching group dynamic

Mourning Joy acknowledges and encourages client rights to include the following:

• Clients have the right to be self-determined
• Clients have the right to file a client-coach complaint with Mourning Joy President
• Clients have the right to cancel services for any reason
• Clients have the right to privacy during the client-coach session
• Clients have the right to receive grief life coaching services regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation
• Clients have the right to request a change of coach
